Big 10 Offers Invites to Four Schools

Joe Schad of ESPN is reporting that the Big 10 has officially offered Missouri, Nebraska, Rutgers and Notre Dame to join. Should be very interesting to see how this all plays out. You would think they would not offer unless they knew the answer already. Nebraska just really surprises me.

LeMay Wins QB MVP

The NIKE Football Training Camp was in Blacksburg yesterday to show case the top talent from Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. Georgia commit Christian LeMay was in attendance and took home the QB MVP Award.

Some other notable Georgia prospects that were in attendace were Uriah LeMay, D.J. Humphries and Keith Marshall. All three performed extremely well at the camp.

Bulldogs Eye 2012 Lineman

Mallard Creek HS in Charlotte, NC recently hosted the Nike Combine. This combine hosted some of the best high school players in North Carolina. One such player that was in attendance was D.J. Humphries. Humphries is a 6'5" 265 lb tackle that is quickly making a name for himself. Humphries performed so well at the combine that he made the All-Combine team. Currently, Humphries has offers from Clemson, Maryland, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

Mark Richt and Bulldogs are starting to show interest in the young man, as well as some other SEC schools. Don't be surprised to see his offers double in the upcoming months.

Two Recruits to Commit Next Weekend

Sorry for the lack of posts last week, I was out of town all week and had limited internet access.

Justin Scott and Sterling Bailey are both set to announce their decision the weekend of 5/14-5/16. Scott plans to make the announcement Sunday afternoon, which is the last day of his track meet. Bailey is planning on holding a small press conference around 6:30pm on Saturday.

Personally I am extremely confident that the Bulldogs land both of these outstanding recruits.

Jay Rome Names Top 5

Jay Rome recently released the top 5 teams that he is considering, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama all made the cut. Rome was recently in Athens to visit the Bulldogs and really enjoyed his trip. While Rome was in Athens he had chance to see the dorms and watch the team practice. He was really impressed with how Georgia incorporates the tight ends into their offense. He liked that Georgia uses their tight ends like many pro teams use them.

Rome is not one to shy away from competition, some people think that with the amount of talent Georgia currently has at tight end will turn Rome away, but that is not case. He loves competition and would love a chance to compete against Orson Charles and Aron White for playing time.

Pretty busy week from a recruiting standpoint with quite a few team gaining recruits. There were a total of 9 recruits who gave their verbal commitments. Georgia gained Chris Conley and Devin Bowman while Alabama picked up the #1 safety in the country in Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix.

Bulldogs Leader with Sophomore RB

Armwood High School running back Matt Jones already is receiving offer from schools and he has not even started his junior year yet. Currently, Jones has offfers from Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. At 6' 3" 217 lbs Jones is a monster of a running back, he likes to compare himself to Eddie George and Brandon Jacobs. Jones thinks that most schools will move him to linebacker or defensive end, but running back is where he really wants to play. With his heart set on playing in the backfield, he has decided at this point that Georgia is his leader. This should really come as no surprise, when you look at Florida, South Carolina and Georgia, which of these three constantly puts running backs in the NFL. The answer of course is Georgia. Lets just hope that Georgia stays on top for the next two years.
