Chris Conley had a good day today at Junior Day, he had a chance to chat with a player rom his area and perhaps his next quarterback. Conley grew up in Dallas, GA which is near the town that current Bulldog Richard Samuel grew up in. Samuel and Conley were not childhood friends by any means but it gave them a chance to talk about growing up in that part of Georgia. Conley also had a chance to chat with the guy who one day could be throwing the ball to him in Aaron Murray.
Conley had already met Mark Richt before he came to Athens, but he was able to meet receivers coach Tony Ball and offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. Conley is planning on making a decision before he starts his senior year. He has stated that Georgia is defintely one of the schools he is interested in. He is already planning on visiting Alabama and Georgia Tech.

Quotes from Todd Grantham Addressing the Media
Here are some quotes from Todd Grantham when he addressed the media today in Athens:
"There will be some change because we want to find what guys can do at multiple positions. That will create depth, too. We are just trying to find out what we have at each position."
"Houston, Montez will play outside linebacker and Richard Samuel will start out at there. Richard is going to be raw, but we are going to try to get him better everyday. We are going to get his feet wet. It is a matter of teaching him to play with his hands. I look forward to getting him out there this spring."
"I am looking forward to seeing what these guys can do with their pads on. I have been pleased with the progress we’ve had in mat drills."
"The outside linebacker is an edge rusher. You have to be able to bend your body and get to the quarterback. You also have to be able to drop in coverage and make tackles in space. As an inside backer you have to have athletic ability. You might have more range, and you will have more coverage responsibilities. MLBs are not going to rush the passer as much. The outside guys are going to probably going to be one-on-one. They are different types of rush. As far as defensive linemen in general… they still need the length you are looking for. They might not have the athleticism the outside linebackers are, but they have to be physical at the point. They have to penetrate guys. They have to engage and get rid of bigger guys."
"We have been recruiting in the morning, and installing later in the day. We want to define the roles for each player. That way they can work in the summer on things they need to work on. I think it’s also important to work on all of the offenses that we see that we will be ready for it in week seven."
"I have been pleased with the way recruiting has been going. About half of the day is spent on recruiting, the other 3/4s of the day are spent on the guys here. I have been really excited with the talent on tape. The talent I expected in the state is here. If we can get the guys who are in a five-hour radius to come here we can be special. We have to make sure we are all on the same page are all new>"
I was a big Kirby Smart supporter when we first were going after him, but you can call it fate, destiny or a higher power but the Bulldogs were meant to get Grantham. Every time he talks about what he wants to do with our players and our defense I think that he we have made the perfect hire. The Junkyard Dawgs are back!!!

Caleb King Injury
It has been confirmed that Caleb King fractured his jaw and suffered a concussion in the loss to LSU. He is day-to-day right now. Mark Richt has not ruled out King playing against Tennessee this week if he is cleared by doctors of post concussion symptoms. Richard Samuel will be starting against Tennessee.

Georgia vs Arkansas
Final: Georgia 52, Arkansas 41
Offense: Can not say too many bad things about the offense. Georgia racked up 530 total yards of offense. Joe Cox threw for 375 yards and five touchdowns. He connected with Green seven times for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Richard Samuel and Caleb King added a nice ground attack rushing for a combined 163 yards and one touchdown. The penalties on offense are getting ridiculous. We had holding and false start penalties all night long. They were killing us all night long. The offense also has got to do a better job of protecting the ball with the Bulldogs turning the ball over twice inside their own 30 yard line which led to 14 points.
Defense: Hmmmm, where should I start with our defense? Defense has always been the strongest part of all Georgia teams until Willie Martinez took over as defensive coordinator. I am convinced now that our defense from the Oklahoma State game was just fluke. The only good thing about our defensive performance tonight is that we did not give up 100 yards on the ground. However, this does not do too much when you let Ryan Mallet throw for 408 yards and five TDs. I am pretty sure that I can count the amount of times we blitzed on one hand. We can not consistently get a pass rush with just our four lineman. So why Mr. Martinez may I ask, would you just let Mallet sit in the pocket and pick apart our defense without even trying to provide any type of pressure. You have got to stop running zone coverages all game and just letting the defense sit back and wait for plays to happen. Try to take a proactive approach and have a proactive defense instead of a reactive one. If we give up 35+ points all our games we will lose games I can promise you this. Martinez you have to do something different, we have the players to have a great defense.

Return of King
The word coming out of Athens, GA is that Caleb King's status for Saturday's game is "very probable". King has missed most of fall practice and the first two games of the season with a hamstring injury. King was the backup to Knowshon Moreno last year and the #1 RB coming in to the fall. King will add another dimension to the Bulldogs backfield of Carlton Thomas and Richard Samuel.
