Of the recruits that were on campus for Junior Day recently, the one that seemed to get along best with coach Scott Lakatos was Ra'Chard Pippens. Pippens is a 6'0" 174 lb DB out of Ola HS in McDonough, GA. Pippens has played safety mostly in high school but Lakatos and the Bulldogs are looking for him to switch and play corner. Pippens had this to say about the coaches "The defensive coaches were joking with me when they were trying to get me to visit that we would all be new to Athens," he said. "It seems like they know what they are doing. Coach Lakatos told me they really like tall corners and they are interested in me as a corner. I also talked to head coach Mark Richt and he shook my hand and we talked about some stuff other than football. It was a nice feeling." To read the whole interview click on the link
Pippens currently only has an offer from South Carolina, but many schools are beginning to show interest in him. Behind South Carolina, the Bulldogs are showing the most interest in Pippens and are the only team looking at him as a corner instead of a safety. Pippens is planning on taking visits to Florida State and Florida in the near future.
