There have been reports coming out of the Alabama camp and speculation across message boards that Gabriel Wright will be heading to Alabama in 2011. Let's set the record straight that this is all that it is, just speculation. Wright recently had an interview with UGASports and was quoted saying "there's still Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida State.....but its still an open process." You can read the rest of the interview here.
The Tide is still in the mix but so are other schools. Wright is planning on announcing his commitment at the Under-Amour All American Game next year. Until that time he is planning on having fun with the whole recruiting process by going to camps and official visits. He does though plan on being back in Athens sometime before the end of spring practice. He will not be able to make it to the G-Day game due to him having to take the ACT.
On his most current visit he did have chance to talk with coach Todd Grantham in depth about how he planned on using Wright in his scheme. Grantham plans on playing Wright at left end but he is such a dynamic player that he could be used at multiple positions. Wright was extremely impressed with Grantham and spend over six hours with him. He also was able to attend mat drills and spend time with Washaun Ealey and Nick Williams. The last thing that he heard before he left Athens was how much he was needed at the Georgia program and this was told to him by Mark Richt.
