With the pro-style offense that the Bulldogs run, one of the key ingredients to the running game is the fullback position. The Bulldogs have had a nice run of pretty good fullbacks to clear the way for whoever the feature back or backs are that particular season. This season will be no different, as Georgia has Shaun Chapas a 6'2" 246lb bruiser clearing holes for the combo of Ealey and King, but what happens next season. According to one depth chart that I have seen we will lose Chapas to graduation along with both his backups, Fred Munzenmaier and Justin Fields.
After this season that puts one of the most important aspects of our running game in the hands of two players that walked on and Alexander Ogletree. Not that there anything wrong with players that walk on, everyone remember JT Wall. I just think that it would be in the best interest of the coaching staff to go after a fullback or two this recruiting season. The two guys that I think would make a nice fit are Tyler Cierski and Jacob Baxter.
Tyler Cierski is out of Mill Creek HS in Hoschton, GA and currently holds an offer from Maryland which he picked up just yesterday. Cierski did attend the first Junior Day for the Bulldogs back in January. Cierski comes in at 6'1" 240 lbs, runs a 4.65 40 and can bench 325lbs. From the film that I have seen of him he reminds me a lot of Mike Alstott when he is running the ball, his speed is decent enough once he breaks though he can gain an extra 10-15 yards before he is brought down.
Jacob Baxter is out of Brookland Cayce HS in West Columbia, SC and currently does not hold any offers yet. Baxter comes in at 6'1" 240lbs and runs a 4.6 40. From the film I have watched Baxter is a straight between the tackles fullback just lowering his head and gaining what he can.

Charles White
Good point. And I dont think Muzenmaier or Fields are walk-ons. I am pretty sure they both received scholarships coming out of high school.
If you read carefully I never stated that Muzenmaier or Fields were walk-ons
Charles White was not a walk on. He will be our next starter at fullback.
Anonymous 7:49 has it exactly right. The coaches moved White from linebacker for a reason. They wouldn't lose his services on defense if they didn't think he could get the job done in the offensive backfield. He graduates after 2011, however, so offering Cierski or Baxter is a good move. Hunter Joyner from Tampa is also a good possibility although I think Tech's got the jump on us for him.
